john deere
Anybody care to speculate what a acceptable tip would be for a 60 bird day.
Cranfield
Somewhere between £20 and £30.

Cushat
Agreed - £20 seems about the minimum up to a 100 birds day; a bit more if you've had a great day, the keeper has worked particularly hard or the birds have been screamers. Pinkfooty
There is a very simple rule. Tip the keeper about 10% of the cost per Gun of the day (or an equivalent day let commercially if it is a private shoot) rounded up to the nearest £5. So, if the average cost of a driven day for 60 birds for 8 Guns is £180 per Gun then the tip would be £18 (rounded up to £20). Even more important (in my view) is to say a personal "Thank You" to the beaters and picker-up before you leave. They work for sweeties and are often ignored by the Guns. Cushat
If we're taking a let day somewhere we alway stick a couple of bottles of port and some disposable cups (and sometimes a fruit cake or something) in a bag which we give to the keeper to put on the beaters trailer for elevenses. Easy way to say thanks and always appreciated. Beaters can make or break your day so worth looking after them
