If you buy a second hand one and then get refused a certificate (not likely unless your'e a criminal or suicidal) you will be able to sell it on again for what you payed for it. sbald Posted November 14, 2008 Report Share Posted November 14, 2008 No you dont need to have a cabinet before a visit but this will mean the feo will have to visit again to check the cabinet before you can purchase a gun. How long they take depends on which force it is, mine took less than three weeks from applying to receiving certificate (lancashire police). As long as you are of good character and have a reason to hold a sgc they can,t really refuse you but if for some reason you have doubt give the feo a ring to discuss it.
