mattslaptop247
Hi everyone. I have just been using tru oil to do my stock. It has come up a treat, however it's a tad on the shiney side for me. I have some 0000 grade wire wool just to take the shine off it. Reading on the tru oil it recomends using birchwood caseys stock sheen and conditioner. Has anyone used it, if so what were the results? Would a wax finish be better? Is it just a con to sell more products?? lol Your thoughts please.....

Cranfield
On a recent refurbished stock I used the Birchwood Casey kit and finished the woodwork with the Stock Sheen and Conditioner. It gives an excellent polished finish (but nothing like varnish) and "seals" the Tru Oil. I have had the gun out in heavy rain and its just rolls off the woodwork, with no "colour/oil" leeching out. PM me your address and I you like I will send you an almost full bottle, you can finish your woodwork and send it back to me. Should be cheaper than buying a bottle. rubberlegs
once you have finished it mate rubb it with autosol and a cloth takes off the shine and gets rid of any bumps and runs
