Tobyb525
Hi, I am intrested in a Hatsan semi auto 12g, a mossburg pump action 12g or a single barrel .410. I already have a b525 over and under but just thought about spending my xmas money on one of these. Does anybody own one of these or have any thoughts? Cheers! ozzy518
I use a Hatsan Escort as does a mate off here Jim, I think they are a cracking gun for the money. Mine gets taken out in weather that I'd rather not use the o/u in and so far it has performed faultlessly despite me not being too conscientious with the cleaning regime. It eats 32g shells and spits out the empties all day no problem.
Ozzy Fudd
hmmm. i bought a mossberg 500a a couple of weeks ago and im very impressed with it. picked up a 2nd hand one in near mint condition for £200, paid an extra £70 for a black synthetic forend and a black synthetic butt with a pistol grip - and now everyone that sees it wants a shot! having said that thats not why i bought it, theyre a good solid gun, plenty of extras available for them and they cycle all loads without a problem (unlike my benelli semi, which hates 28 gram 7.5s). only thing id say is if youre buying one get the a model with a top rib and bead sight, some of them come with rifle sights, the rear sight folds flat so you can use the front sight like the bead on a normal shotgun but i find the ribs better; plus the 500a comes with chokes (or the ability to fit chokes) unlike some of the slugster models. Billy.
My escort's worth the money and considering i rarely ever clean it, it's only had a couple of problems. (Just having a problem with the hammer because it's got a bit of powder build up somewhere on it) You can chuck it around and not have to worry. For the money, you'll be happy, otherwise you might end up spending a few extra quid and treating it like a china cup when you're out! Quite rightly said above, it'll eat big cartridges for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Careful you don't get too trigger happy!
