Cranfield
Since they have cut most of the cereal crops around here, I am seeing a lot more foxes in the daytime. I mention it because I haven,t noticed quite so many in other years. There are strong rumours that foxes are being trapped in London and brought out in to the Kent countryside and released. Local lampers are seeing groups of three and four together on the stubbles. I have seen two together before , but not small groups. Any comments ? BigDave15
Do you shoot fox's with rifle or shotgun? My uncle use's a 10 Bore with a turky choke and some really heavy shot. What shot size are you lot using on old foxy BB .1 stuff like that and do you shoot him on the move. I have neaver seen a fox shot with a shotgun is it as clean as a rifle? If so do you think I could give my 20 Bore a try or do I have to pinch dads 12. So Many questions
Cranfield
I use a 12bore shotgun with Maximum 4s when deliberately going to shoot foxes. I have shot quite a lot using standard pigeon loads. Its just a question of knowing the range limitations of your ammunition. Most of the foxes I have shot are running and I have had no problem getting clean kills. Most foxes aren,t as big as you think. Its not a lion you are trying to shoot. BigDave15
I see How close do you have to be within pigeon range or closer? Were do you hit them just behind the front hip like a deer or just in the head?
lazza
BigDave, I like to be within 25 yards for fox, & I normally aim for the chest or the head.
Cranfield
BigDave, same as lazza on this one. By the way, the "hip" is at the back of the animal, the "shoulder" is at the front. However, if they are running backwards you could be right.

NeVeTaS
I've seen 4 or 5 out in the day here in Tiptree, Essex. Went back later in the night, and cracked him from 200 yards. Then saw 3 the next night, but didn't have my rifle!
Cranfield
My wife and I travelled up to London by train yesterday to see the musical "Chicago", it was great. However, the reason for this post is, that all the while we were in the countryside I didn,t see any foxes. As soon as we were past Dartford, through Lewisham, right to London Bridge, I spent the whole time showing my wife foxes on the railway embankment. We counted 12, in broad daylight. :
