I`ve got a Tracer Max and would`nt use it for Centrefire work!I`ve bought a Lightforce Striker scope mounted lamp for fox control and in my opinion this is by far the best scope mounted lamp available! My advice to you would be to pay that little extra and buy the Striker-its a miles better than the Max!!!!! <_<:lol:

My mate has just got a lightforce scope mounted and i was impressed with it,nice tight beam and good distance too.Only thing is with the lightforce it works out a lot more expensive when you add the stock switch, battery etc etc.Is it worth the extra if the max does 250-300 yards ?

My tracer max is good for 400yds and eyes can be picked out alot further than that but most Fox control is around 100yds anyway .When out with a lightforce user once (Not sure what model his was )we both thought the Tracer was as good .My only complaint is the connecters are.nt brilliant but htey can be easily changed.

Cluson do a nice compact Scope mounted lamp .

If you have a large sound moderator then you will have problems with scope glare

Rimmie not C/F.

Had all the Deben lamps & think there good but now have a Lightforce with filter & dimmer.

I know what you mean about cost but save up, get the best.

The money I've lost by buying second best means I could of got a Lightforce set up quicker.

Get a s/h Max with dimmer for now, get an extra battery if needed.

When you save up through next summer & sell the Max in the autumn/winter you can get a good Lightforce set up.
