jonnyoftheboy
Gents... am looking at arranging a weekend break in wales for the family, & thought why not kill 2 birds with 1 stone & make it near a shooting ground!!! so my questions are these: 1. anyone have experience of shooting at Llandegla? good ground? good people/friendly? busy? 2. weather ok? without wishing to offend or be too stereotypical, have spoken to a friend who keeps telling me weather is quite poor in the area/loads of rain. Is he winding me up? not sure what time of year will be going yet as have to firm up dates.... but any general weather info would be appreciated!!?? 3. anything I should know about local area of the ground - good or bad!!?? any help appreciated..... Salopian
Dovey Valley can cater for everything you want, holiday accomodation, sheltered shooting stands if weather is bad, situated in a tourist area.

Crow_Killer
I shot at Llandegla and the weather was bad it was snowing but we went up for a welsh qualifier the people are freindly up there but you have to watch the markers up there becasue they are very dodgy when it comes to birds being chipped and make sure you ask them to tell you wether the bird was killer or losts then you can tell them you hit the bird when you are in the stand and other shooter can justify the bird being hit. Midwales is a good shooting ground and the markers are the same at midwales aswell especially the bloke on the quad you really have to watch him. i would recommend going to longridge SG that has a good variety of target at international and club standard. Peely
llandegla is now being run by different people whpo know what they are doing.well worth a visit. Hi Beretta, Is Llandegla a members only club or is it open to anybody to shoot there. Do you know if they have 'delay release' traps for solo shooters? Thanks Peely
beretta
its not a members only but not sure on the delay release system.
Patrick1964
Llandegla has delay release and voice activated traps, no problem there. Cost is £5/25 clays, open Wed (until 10pm floodlit), then Thurs - Sun till dusk. Most Sundays there's a competition on so unless you want to shoot a comp Saturdays are quieter. If you need any more info PM me with your phone number and I'll give you a bell. As far as I know (and I was there on Sunday) there has been no change of management for a year or so, although apparently things will be changing soon. It's my local ground, by the way, I have no other connection to it, so this isn't an advert !

Janski
It's a nice enough ground in a beautiful setting (when the weather is nice anyway) A great deal of money has been spent on the ground in the past few years and is well worth a visit. Do be aware though that it is principally a trap ground. Mid Wales SG has also been suggested, that is even more aimed at the trap shooter.
