Blackbart
As the title says i am after a mod for a 22-250,it must be an over barrel type.I know a lot of people use the T8 but have heard a few people say that they suffer from corrosion bad.I currently shoot a 22-250 un modded, mostly at night and in some places it sounds like a space shuttle lifting off,so my new gun is getting moded up,but which one ? Baldrick
PES T12 Scout, with no question. As a T8 owner, I saw the light recently and plonked a PES T12 on a rifle, and have not looked back. I grant you that it looks silly, but it is mustard. I would stress that the T8s I have perform very well, and when treated with care and common sense, remain in very good condition.
Blackbart
The pes T12 has had some good write-ups and most people do think they look silly, but i wont be entering in any beauty contests with it.The sound is the primary objective for getting one closely followed by muzzle bounce, flash etc. Some times it is difficult to see if the shot connected(not that i miss often )In that respect i think the mod will help

Blackbart
Sounds like he is on commission with them but they do seem like good mods. The gunshop have said once my gun is screwcut that i can try a few different mods and shoot a few rounds through it and then decide.Which was very good of them. They must have demo mods or something.I guess that is the best way to get the feel and sound, and i can try this new mod from ase(that no-body has heard of)
JRDS
I have had a PES T12, good Mod but far too heavy. Now use a DM80, same sound reduction or better and alot less weight.

tinytim38
Go for the Wildcat Predator 8 compact same noise reduction as the full length model but 4 " shorter, I bought the full length version as thats what the plick in the shop told me I needed, however it was like have a breeze block stuck on the end of the rifle. After speaking to the man who makes them I discovered that he makes a compact version, bought a pair of compact rear tubes, took off long ones screwed the new tubes on and it is an absolute dream to shoot with now B) Compact Predator 8 112mm £215 Styer Predator 8 150mm £215 Predator 8 200mm £215 Plus 1 250mm £235 Plus 2 300mm £235 Plus 3 350mm £245 Edited January 4, 2009 by tinytim38
Blackbart
The weight is a big factor, even if it is on a bipod. That was one of the reasons why i was leaning towards ase instead of T8 territory(and i HATE the tiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnng a T8 makes)Dont get me wrong,i like a heavy gun and have purposely went on the heavy side instead of something that feels like a gun my daughter would run around the garden with playing cowboys and indians(or Bratz and Baddies in her case). The balance and feel of the gun is better in my opinion than something that is as light as a feather

tinytim38
Spot on! balance was what I wanted, as well as the shorter mod I had the barrel cut down by 7" so the mod is just short of the stock I did not do this blind I asked the advice of a few well respected rifle customizers, and had the work undertaken by a gunsmith and the whole outfit reproofed, this did not alter the fact the when I re-zeroed the outfit I was dreading to see the reults in case I had lost accuracy, however it was just as accurate as before, but the outfit is now the same length as my 17HMR with a 16" barrel
tinytim38
sorry should have read all your reply 1 2 3 are extra baffles if you want to make the Predator 8 into a 9 10 or 11 I would not bother with them as they add weight, regarding the varmint barrel that is not a problem as the is a Delrin (nylon) bush at the rear of the mod which you bore out to the diameter of you barrel Tim. Blackbart
So the £215 would be the all in price or is there any extras needed.
grasshopper
So the £215 would be the all in price or is there any extras needed. That would be all it would cost you! Have shot Magmans,it,s on his .223,really quiet and really light..I have the full version on my .243 and am reaslly pleased with it.
tinytim38
Yes that the price of the mod assuming you have the rifle screw cut already, all you need to do then is have the rear bush bored out to the size of of the diameter of your barrel, as you would with any other over barrel mod Tim.
