topshot
all of what summer we had last year i shot a few pigeons on the permission i have. but this week end i have never seen so many birds flocking on the frozen stubble trying to get what food they could.i set up some decoys but they would not come in to them at all they were just moving all round the field i did manage to put 12 onto the ground.around about 11ish i noticed that they were landing onto a part that the sun was shining on so i ventured up the hedge row and noticed that the patch of ground had slightly thawed out so i sat in the hedge and ended up with 63 birds and frozen feet good days shooting even though i was cold. Spaniel
I went past a field near Thornbury Bristol yesterday and noticed hundreds of Pigeons and Crows feeding on frozen crop.. Only prob is that the field is a bit close to some houses and the main A38 so not sure if it would be suitable to shoot over.
MerseaDavid
It has got to be worth a go. If the pigeons are there then go for it.
