Paul in North Lincs.
often bitches kenneled together will quarrel - and rather like humans..if they have a set to, they sometimes never forget, then they're at it all the time..epsecially if there is question hanging over 'dominance'.. I have seen it first hand with a patt x and lurcher...fine for two years....thye ahd a ding dong, and because they were both headstrong, they would fight brutally at any opportunity until one had to go. Also, as we all know too well, when a bitch comes into season..the hormones go Pete Tong.....and again...quarrels can occur over seemingly nothing. JDFrain
seperate the patterdale, its natural for them to kill things and if your dog is working then it may be starting to become a proper little killa.... I would just seperate them and see what happens. John
BlaserF3
Regarding your Labrador who is the Dominant one. You should be the dominant one this is why the terrier is trying to become the pack leader. I have owned a patterdale/fell terrier for 13 years and the breeder I got it off "John Cowan" advised me to "boss the dog or she will boss you" This is what you must do. You must be the pack leader or you will have nothing but fights.
gav
cheers guys yeah i am the boss . i think both bitches have been spayed , the patt also has 2 yr old her son with her , they have had a few scraps , that i usually let em get on with but this time its different . i dont think it helps that the spaniel is a bit of a weirdo , she was bred by me sold at 8 weeks and returned at 1 yr . coz they couldnt cope with her gotta think wat i do may have to kennel one of them whats the best sort of kennel as my old ones where a small shed with big run but the patt barked too much , do they still make them that are a shed with 1 side mesh
anser2
I had the same trouble with my 13 year old golden retriever and a 10 month old golden retriever. It was hell in the house for a week and in the end the pup had to go before she killed the old dog.
