samyw
went on the marsh last night when i first got over the bank there was no wind but when i got out near the river it was blowing a gale after a good walk round i found a splash were you could tell a duck or two had been coming nothing came until edge of dark a bunch of wigeon came in i shot at the front bird and missed a good start not long after and another bunch of wigeon came two shots an two came down they dropped next to my floating decoys thats better i thought then a lone wigeon came in one shot and he was bagged to. things went quiet for 10 mins or so then a teal came in but wasnt able to get a shot at it. just as i was guna pack up a pair ov mallard came straight to the decoys i raised the gun killing the first bird the the second one veered of but i swung on to it and killed that too a good night but a bit cold. Spaniel
You had better luck then me last night then. We were freezing our nuts off on the Bristol Channel and with a strong wind the Mallard were flying about 3ft off the ground. No shots fired by me but still a good evening out Edited February 2, 2009 by Spaniel
