Marky Mark
What sort of work are you doing with the rifle? Hunting or targets? A few months ago i got the Nikko Stirling Nighteater 6-24x56AG IR for £170 brand new. Its big but it is an awesome scope!!! Mark

Axe
If its for hunting alone then avoid the above scope like the plague. You will be much better off with a scope that doesnt have paralax and yes I do have the aforementioned scope.

bullet boy
You wont go far wrong with either Simmons or Nikko Sterling optics.
Carbonrocket
I have two JSR units, both parralex, milli dot, illuminated (red/green variable). They had excellent reviews a couple of months back. 3-9x40 and 3-9x50
THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
If you get Simmons make sure it's made in the Philipeans, not China. I have 6 Simmons scopes, none are Chinese for a good reason.
Erik Hamburger
If it is for hunting only I recommend a fixed magnification of x6 or x8 And you don't need illuminated recticles. That saves money on gimmicks you don't need - spent it on the best quality optics and coatings instead.
Lefty gunz
If its for sub 12flb air rifle i would probably go for a fixed magnification of 6 or 8x non adjustable parralax. I have x8 on my .22lr and it plenty for the ranges i shoot at upto 70yrds ish. If you have any intentions of useing it in conjuntion with a nv add on then i would suggest you do some serious research as some makes of scope seem to give far better results than others. You could get a good quality fixed mag for the money your talking. Airgun ranges dont require huge mag and adjustable this that n the other, just things to go wrong, keep it simple.
