scout
Got up bright and early this morning about an hour before sun up and set of to one of me collegues shoots at work. He had asked me down to help with a lot of vermin, and the rest of the guns were only interested in the phesants. So set off nice and early and got to the site just as the sun was coming over the horizon. The weather forecast was poor, but as usual it was 100% wrong. So it was almost perfect weather conditions. This is a really beautiful part of cornwall as you can see from this photo. Had a quick scout around and saw 4 Roe , 2 does with fawns but couldn't get a safe shot on them. Walking down through some of the woods and heard some strange screaming, which I'd never heard before. Walked towards the screaming for about 10 minutes and saw 2 foxes fighting, well I think they were fighting, end the fight very quickly and here's the loser. Walking back to the car after a few hours saw another 4 foxes fighting , playing but couldn't get close enough. But my mate took another one as his 243 barked across the valley, he'd also manage a roe doe, so not a bad morning. 2 foxes will not be mating this year and some nice meat in the freezer.
