dummy launchers and starting pistols

i was there in the workshop making an insert for the shottie so i can put .22 blanks in it and it got me thinking.

whats the law on starting pistols and dummy launchers in a public place. I know the chad's would have there nose's over the fences, like they do when using the hilti in the garden, and more then likely make a phone call or two but what is the law on discharging a dummy launcher in public place, IE: a local park, mid week, when empty.

just wondering, as you do. :good:

Be careful that these remain within the law. If they are capable of chambering and firing a .22 round as well as a blank then they would be classed as illegal

activeii,

For future reference, I think you can be a blank firing cartridge just like you've described. Instead of 22 blanks, you use 209 primers. Basically it is a shotgun cartridge hull with a loose fitting primer pocket that you can put new primers in while in the field. Don't know about here, but 209 primers are a lot cheaper than 22 blanks in the US and you can get primers everywhere.

Thanks,

Rick
