steve_b_wales
Has anyone heard of this caliber? It's actually a .22-243. I was watching an Ameican hunting dvd recently and the guy was using this caliber for fox and coyote. It produces very fast velocities of up to 4500 ft per second. This would be great for our foxes. I emailed the guy who made the dvd/used the caliber, and he told me that it's a 22-250 barrel with the chamber reamed to take a .243 case. The name 'Middlestead' is the surname of the person who 'invented' this caliber. Edited February 1, 2009 by steve_b_wales

Trussman
I can see its use on long range varmints in the states, but that's a bit pointless over here, isn't it?
steve_b_wales
I'm not going to buy one. I just found it an interesting caliber and wondered if anyone else had heard of it or even used one. I'm going to stick with my 22-250 and .243.
