Big_Sam
I have a similar ceramic stick one. At first it seems like it is not working, but after about 5-6mins you begin to notice it putting an edge on. Once it gets the edge, it is ruddy sharp and holds it for a long time. All my kitchen knives are far sharper than most and I have to warn people before using them else my chopping boards get shredded (not to mention all the cut thumbs from people testing the blades....) The sharpest knife I own is a Gurka Kukri I got from Nepal. It is made from old leaf springs and sharpened by hand. Stupidly sharp and can cut through trees without hardly effecting the the edge.
