roadkill
I have sourced a springer puppy from a local keeper which was born into the world yesterday , The dog will be living in the house full time with me my mrs a 4 year old and the 3 year old family dog ( staffy ) Will this kind of living have an effect on the training of the puppy ? Are they better kenneled or does it make no difference ? roadkill

Cranfield
I think it depends on what standard you intend to train the pup to. Its my experience that being kenneled outside makes them easier and quicker to train. Which enables you to increase the standard they are trained to. You don't mention what sex the pup is, or what sex your 3 year old Staffy is. That could also be a factor. Your current dog may not like being displaced in the family's (or your) attention and the pup could get some mild bullying. This will not help when you are trying to train it. If you have taken the trouble to get a good pup, I would not take any risks .
Sundowner
Just as the man says, kennel, but, by all means, whilst a pup leave him/her in the house till it's a good size and by the end of the year it's the kennel! DOn't let the kids to it though (as mentioned above!) Get a pic posted soon? enjoy the pup!

Im not after any show standard but as long as it does me prowd when i beating and the odd bit of rough shooting then im happy ........ the puppy is a bitch and so is the staffy ... There wont be any bullying as they will never be left apart and the kitchen has been split into two so they both have there own cages / beds and toys . The only time they will be together is when im or the mrs are there and the 3 year old knows her place in the pack so she is well behaved . Just as the man says, kennel, but, by all means, whilst a pup leave him/her in the house till it's a good size and by the end of the year it's the kennel! If it comes to needing a kennel then i will do it , but i would really prefer it in the house rather than on its own outside
