Went out this morning for "MOOCHIES" and found 150+ crows/rooks on newly drilled beans and the same flock of pigeons as yesterday on OSR. (- 60+ we shot yesterday.Lol) We decided to split up and had 2 on the rape and 2 on the crows and both parties shot steady most of the day. Ended up with Party 1 - 76 pigeons Party 2 - 69 "Blackies". Not a bad day as we had helped out 2 Farmers and then went to a 3 farm and gave the farmer 20 crows to hang out on poles in one of his fields and onto a 4th farm and spread the rest of the "blackies" onto his field of beans. 4 good deeds and a nice day's pest controlling. Going for a mooch is the same as a " a gander" a "recce" a "look" etc. We do it regimentally EVERY morning before we decide to set up on a particular field/fields. That is the reason why I think we are so succesful . I will be doing the same in the morning on my own as my "Hoppoes" are going to wales GOAT SHOOTING.
