pete evans
shot about 20 pigeons near banbury today. when i breasted them out the contents of all 20 crops could have fitted into 2 or three crops one was quite full of maise one was quite full of rape the other 18 or so had hardly anything in them. considering they were shot between 2 - 5 oclock i would have expected them to have eaten a bit more. anyone have any explenations or theories? pete
Cranfield
We have had snow for the last few mornings in my part of Kent and I have noticed the birds haven't been seriously feeding until early afternoon, when things have thawed out a bit. That could be the answer.
barrie0
As you know pete I shoot just round the corner from you and every time I am there the amount of shooting going on around your parts is amazing . The poor ******* probably spend more time in the air with the amount of lead fired at them .

barrie0
Still quiet on the pigeon front , but there are a fair few crows/rooks on the patch at Farthinghoe . The farmer asked the next door farm manager about shooting at Thenford on Heseltines estate but it is not allowed so he says . The reason he asked is because he reckons all the pigeons in the area are on that estate ! B) Cheers Pete
