jinxy72
she was already lined up for maternity leave, redundancy is being worked out on a point system, so unfortunately it looks cosher from their point of view. couldn't have come at a worse time as she'll never get a job anywhere else with only 4 months before she's supposed to be off work (plus we loose BUPA cover etc. etc.)! see a solicitor ... my ex-wife had similar prob before we had our daughter .... if they make u redundant and its close to ur maternity leave starting they have to honour it .... but i cant remember what the timescale is ..... sure its 6 months but cant remember now. see an empolyment law solicitor asap !!!!!!!! paul1966
I've got a bro in law thats not worked for 12 months, he's a bricklayer, my brother might be made redundant next week, another bro in law works in a call centre that's been off shored, he's been told his jobs under threat. where i work its very quiet, they laid off all the temps last month and there is going to be another announcement this week, rumour is its more redundancies. happy days. Browning GTS
I seem to be ok people are still traveling into London in fact more seem to be going by train. Also we are lucky as we have a tracker mortgage so are at rock bottom repayments. One thing ive noticed though are local "mortgage shop" is offering about 2.5% so if anyone takes this up what happens when the rate goes back up more problems me thinks
