macca
As a walkaround allweather, T3 lite stainless. The SPS I described in my last post (sits in my safe) is a 17 fireball and has a blind box magazine - no floorplate, over here they are the cheapest of the Remington lineup. magman
Why only foxing mate ? Only for foxing atm but maybe a bit of stalking in the future It will be fine then , thought you might of wanted to shoot paper as well
lazza
What's the rifle like in the synthetic ? Is it like a cheapy synthetic or is it nice ? Im debating between this and a Tikka T3 Hunter. Bigthug87, it is a bit cheapy synthetic, but then it's a cheap stalking gun and I'm not gonna be gutted if I fall on it! See if you can get to handle both and then make your own mind up. Hi,the T3 lite stock is better quality than the Remmington SPS stock. The SPS metal is usually parkerised rather than blued while the T3 can be blued or stainless, both are push feed, T3 is much smoother in the action. Remington SPS has blind magazine well (no floor plate) T3 has a detachable box magazine. T3 has a much better trigger then the Remington. Out here the T3 and the SPS are about the same money. T3 for me everytime. Cheers I reckon macca definately prefers the T3
macca
Yep, having owned both personally and sold both through the shop I owned - T3 for me every time

marky123
Hello I had a more lean budget than the sako/tikka boys and I bought a new savage model 10 accutrigger in .243.That puts PP 90 grainers into 3/4 of an inch at 100m. It too has a blind box mag,the safety is excellent but I had to tweak the trigger slightly and the finish is 'utilitarian'shall we say. That said,I bought it so I could change barrels easily and it has never let me down on a fox yet. There is a new Howa .243 in forest lodge guns wragby for £450 and my savage was less than that. More news from the cheapseats soon...! MARK
macca
Hi, If I couldnt afford a T3 Id choose a savage as second choice. Rifles are rather "boxy" but usually extremely accurate out of the box. Varmint/target series with aluminium bedding blocks are brilliant shooters.
