old rooster
Depends how long you plan staying awake. I'd say go for the £19 one if using a wiper motor. Don't forget you'll need a proper charger for this as a car charger will knock the bo**ox out of this type of battery as they charge at too high a current. Jonno has used some so he should be able to advise.

Ask the peeps at the place I've mentioned in the previous posting, I spoke to a rather nice French lady there, very helpful indeed
jonno 357
OR, Thanks for that - Jonno - any advice on a good charger......... Old rooster has hit the nail right on the head so to speak. Yes a bog standard car battery charger will eventually **** up a 12v 7Ah battery. You will be able to get away with it a few times but evenually the battery will start to take the shape of a rugby ball Due to the fact the car battery charger is pumping out too much Ah. Should be looking at 500mA charger for 12v 7Ah batteries I have a 24v 1Ah charger but I charge two batteries at a time. Trickle charge is better long term 500mA battery chargers are about £13- I think- never bought one Jonno
Catamong
OK guys, thanks for the advice - my car battery will only run my whirly for about 4 hours, so I'm currently getting the worst of both worlds - poor performance from a heavy piece of kit
