End of dry spell!

Well after moaning in billyo's roe thread about our nocturnal deer I finally had a result this evening after a month of blanks! Taken in the last minutes of daylight from a high seat @ about 200 yards. Conditions were not ideal... she was within easy reach of the wood line with darkness minutes away, it was drizzling incessantly, my binos were misted up, my scope was misting up and I almost bottled it... but she presented a shot, I found a steady hold so I took the shot and I'm glad I did!

Recent trips to the range have paid off!

Would have preferred not to have run into March, but it has been unavoidable this year. She was pregnant as expected, but the gralloch revealed not as far gone as I would have thought. I've heard that rates of growth can vary wildly?

Anyway... She's hanging in the garage and will be butchered this weekend. :good:
