Hi all,

Just getting back into clays after a 20 year break (long story). Currently looking for an appropriate O/U 12b before I start spending big money on a new one :hmm:

Found this forum by accident a few days ago and have enjoyed reading up on it.

Cheers

Welcome to PW. Im kind of new to all this too and recently bought my first shotgun.

Can I recommend, depending on budget, that you look at Lanber, Bettinsoli and Lincoln as starter guns? Quite a wide range available and you should be able to pick up a used one for a few hundred sheets. You're bound to find something that fits you. My first is a FIAS made, Browning marketed, 12 bore Medallist. I picked it up for £500, used, with a grand total of 25 carts fired through it. RRP was £750 so there are some reasonable deals out there for the beginner. Im happy with it so far.

Take a peek at ukgunroom.co.uk and guntrader.co.uk to get an idea of prices if you havent already.

What type of shooting are you getting into?

Hope that helps. :hmm:

I bought myself a Medalist on 1st April (no, I'm not joking) - There's already been a 'gun snob' thread due to me admitting it

I went to Sawley last Sunday and shot 50 clays (which is what I want to get (back) into) and no, I'm not admitting how many got away :hmm:

I went out to Doveridge today for a look around, but didn't shoot.

Is there anyone around Derby who fancies a round somewhere on Good Friday (or if I can tag along) - SWMBO is having to work over Easter so there's no-one to operate the traps

Cheers
