Land check for FAC

I put in for my FAC application a couple of weeks ago. Went out lamping with my mate (who is also the owner of the land I applied on), and he mentioned that the police had phoned him and arranged a land check with him for next week.

 

Now, I always thought that the police would get in touch with me and accompany me to check out the land. Is this unusual in that they've contacted the landowner for a check? They haven't contacted me at all yet.

 

One thing I thought it might be due to is that the land I shoot on is in Herefordshire whilst my local firearms office is in Gloucestershire. Could this be the reason?

 

Just a bit worried they haven't contacted me first.

It can be both ways, Generally i have found that the FEO contacts the land owner and makes an appointment to see himand clears the land that way.

Gloucester always contact me when they do a visit. I guess it's just one of those variations in forces things? How's it going with the application? What did you ask for in the end?

 

I haven't heard from you for a while so I assumed you were busy. You back at home any time soon?

 

More importantly, how many did you get when you went out with the lamp?

Devon contact the land owner, and then depending on the FEO whether they ask you to go with them for the visit, seems a bit inconsistent but its always worked in my favour so not going ot raise too many objections / questions.
