butty Posted March 26, 2009 Report Share Posted March 26, 2009 (edited) HI THERE Is There Any One That Can Help Me And Give Me Some Sound Advice On What Gun,Chokes,Barrell LengthTo Use For Pigeon,Pest Control.Ive Been Shooting Now 4 Years Ive Done A Bit Of Pigeon And Pest Control But Ive Only Used A BROWNING 525 SPORTER 30INCH BARRELLS WITH 1/4 AND 1/2 CHOKES IN IT.I Also Go Clay Shooting for A Pratice For Pigeon Shooting And Not For Comps.Does Anyone Think That I Sould Get A Field Gun Ie A Berreta Silver Pigeon And What Barrell Length And With What Chokes. jonboy1 Posted March 26, 2009 Report Share Posted March 26, 2009 your gun should be fine mate, personally i use a semi auto beretta al391 urika 2 with a skeet choke for decoying, i very rarely need anymore choke than that, unless roost shooting for high birds. Whitebridges Posted March 26, 2009 Report Share Posted March 26, 2009 (edited) The B525 is a great gun for pigeon shooting, you really don't need anything else. Nice to have something different though like a S/A, game gun or perhaps something in a smaller bore. An old boy once told me "yew dot need all 'um buoy, yew cun only use one at the same time" You could try opening the chokes out a bit (if it's a multi-choke, if not don't bother). If you use CAPITAL LETTERS people think you are SHOUTING. You'd be better off using normal case lettering butty. Welcome to PW. Shooting Tom Posted March 26, 2009 Report Share Posted March 26, 2009 I also have the same question as you, i have a A303 Semi-Auto, i have 2 barrel length to use,26inc and 28inc what length would you use and i have 1/4 chokes in now, but i have 1/2 and full chokes what ones should i use being a new pigeon shooter. butty Posted March 27, 2009 Author Report Share Posted March 27, 2009 Hi guys / shooting tom Shooting tom I am going to take the advice i was given in that Iam going to put more open chokes in ie true CYL and 1/4 in my o/u sporter.Tom if it was me I would put the 28 inch barrell on and put the 1/4 choke in it.You will get some great advice on this site the guys tell you straight.Hope this helps.
