Hi all new to PW, Just a quick question on the legal side. If i were to tune my Rapid 7 to over 12lb would need any sort of licence, or is if just the shops that are limited to sell at that power. Many thanks BarnsleyDan

you would need a FAC that stated firearms rated air rifle not exceeding xx ft/lbs its also a good way to get started on the route to a full Rifle cert

Don't even think about it! You would need a FAC, which means background and land checks and a safe to keep it in, and also good reason to own the rifle before they will allow it. The penalty for having an overpowered rifle without the certification can be prison. Although it's still only an air rifle it's considered a very serious offence. <_<

EDIT... Why not apply for your FAC if you can be bothered with it and are old enough? You'd be surprised how easy it is if you have good reason. The guys on here could advise you if needed.

correct me if I'm wrong pav but it is a full rifle cert <_<

once you've got it id you have the need you can put in for a variation for any rifle you like

correct, its an FAC but limited to air power if thats whats stated, mine used to say up to 50 ft/lbs, I went that route as my first permission was small and they would not grant a rimmy on it to a new cert holder, year later i got a new bit and got a variation for the .17HMR and then the .223
