Chavs with dogs

Recommended Posts

personal favorite was an old farmer told me when in his younger days if he knew poachers were about he would watch the direction they always used to get into the woods and there usual exits then string up wire between the paths in the wood ! what will that do i hear you ask ? well he would then wait for them to walk in wait about 5 minutes then fire a couple of shots off in the air and start flashing his torch about, he then used to go down the pub a couple of days later and collar any one with a red line still across there face

I have not met many people that will stand up to a rottie or gsd in full flight with or without guns. Yes it is possible that they will shoot your dog, but if they have guns and you call the police 999, and say gun see how quick they arrive.

I am in the middle of nowhere and still get a response to poachers with guns of less than 5 mins normally. ( there are other words to describe them but polical correctness prevents me from using it)

Ultimately it is always a risk to do anything to prevent them going about their "business", however if they get disturbed often enough they will get fed up of coming to your land and go elsewhere.

As an aside i use birdscaring rockets which sound somewhat like a howitzer going off, some of these let off over their heads would wake them up and the whole neighbourhood so making their trip a complete waste of time. (Don't know the legality of it though).

I would never set a pet dog on people with guns because if they shot it you might do somthing that would get you put in jail for (as we all love our dogs)

just call the police as soon as you see them, they may get their chopper out :hmm: if it is nearby and they will not get away then

BTW cute dogs especially the pup

I think the best bet is to make life hard for them without them realising that's your intention. Leaving a few bits of old barbed wire in the crops where a lurcher would run is a good plan, as is leaving a few bits of broken pallet with rusty nails facing upwards on their usual routes. A nail in the foot and a cut up dog is going to make them hunt somewhere else!

A simple "please don't block the gateway" sign on the gates should work for the cars. People don't block gates because they're inconsiderate, they're just too stupid to know any better and need to be educated. If they persist, tip their car in the ditch with your Matbro
