Tis1979
Finished work early so went to have a look over a linseed field on one of my permissions crops through about 2 inchs. Didn't expect too much so sat and watched the field for about half an hour 45 mins could see a few birds flighting and a patch of about 50 on the field near the loosen in the next field. Set up my Hide on the hedge line between the two fields Wind coming from right to left what i found great was if one was coming over my head i saw the shadow out on the field and just waited for the bird to appear. (great fun) was using a comma pattern of sorts with two flappers one of a flying bird out to the left of the pattern (looking like he was flying right into the killing Zone) and one of a landing /taking off bird at the front of the killing zone. Good couple of hrs shooting for twenty birds.
Cranfield
Its nice when you try something and it really works, well done. A few weeks ago I was shooting over rape, with the sun behind me and a gale blowing into my face. The birds were hopping over the low hedge behind me and dropping behind the decoys set out about 50 yards from the hide, facing into the wind. I saw the shadow first and then the birds were passing over me a few feet above my head, or to the side and I had to wait for them to get a distance away before shooting them. It was quite strange. MerseaDavid
Great shooting mate. Good to see you have got some birds on ur crops, most of ours are still in the Trees eating buds etc.
