First attempt at sausage making

hi,

 

this is my first attempt at sausage making and am pretty chuffed :good: used my lidl mincer which i bought about a year ago.

as this was my first attempt i thought i would stick to pork and see how they turned out. i used pork, leek and rusk. heres some pics, hope you enjoy. they will hopefully be eaten on our new BBQ at the weekend :good:

spaniel i have posted somewhere to find the skins on the where have the butchers gone thread

if they wont do mail oreder i can give you some if you would like providing you dont mind meeting me at bristol wholesale fruit market at 7am on a tuesday as this is the only day i go

cheers for the kind comments guys. i put a pin ***** in the knot end to allow the excess air to escape when starting to fill. really rate the lidle mincer, its a mincer and sausage stuffer in one.

mmmmmmm.. i can smell the bbq cooking away, will let you know how they taste. oh btw there hog casing. bought them from the internet

guys as in a similar posting ongoing just now wee bit of advice

 

i used to use a cheap mincer with sausage adapter and it was twice the work off burgers....

 

bought a seperate dedicated sausage stuffer from bushwear.....WOW SO MUCH QUICKER AND EASIER

 

depends if you are going to do this regularly either with game or buying a whole pig leg from butcher and doing yer own so you know whats in em

 

then invest well in decent dedicated kit

 

if its going to be once every 5 or 6 months or whatever then cheapo will do

Cheers Nick but i have to keep my eyes open for a mincer first, told the Mrs about Lidls as we have one around the corner and she is nomally popping in there on a daily basis for our milk, so as soon as i see them for sale i will let everyone know
