FLO question

If it was my FLO, who I know well and let some stalking to, I would no object to an inspection. If it was anyone else, I would want to see ID and possibly consider calling the local control room to check the ID, before I let an unknown in. The shooting press regularly receives letters about dodgy callers masquerading as FLOs.

However, I have never received an impromptu inspection.

Like Baldrick,I would be very suspicious of an unannounced visit by a FLO.They are usually too busy to do such things.I have a friend who changes his gun more often than a whore changes her draws and he had a visit at an hours notice because they suspected he might be trading guns.

I believe that like anything to do with law, unless you have asked them to call or they have prearranged it with you, just turning up and expecting to be let in (regardless of ID), does not constitute a right that they have under the human rights act. To do an impromtu visit and gain entry they would require a warrant to search.

That said, unless they happen to call whilst you were out and it was just the missus (or non licence/key holder) at home, why would you not let them in if a ) you knew the FLO or b ) their ID checked out. As SGC/FAC holders we're after all supposed to be law abiding citizens and therefore have nothing to hide. :hmm:

SS
