Mungler
That'll do for now, but the one's to go for are the S&B 8x56 or a Swaro 8x56

Mungler
I have variable mag S&B scope as well as fixed. Indeed, I have 4 S&B scopes and one Swaro. On the variable, the higher you turn up the mag, the worse they perform in low light. Also with variable there is always the temptation to keep fannying about. For most shooting out to no more than 200 yards a fixed ret S&B 8x56 is a do all - you can get a 2nd hander for between £300 and £400 depending on condition and mounts and they suck in low level light so are excellent for lamping. Everyone reckons they fancy a bit of shooting beyond 200 yards but realistically shooting at something that is breathing you should try to get a bit closer. Absolutely with you there. Tend to wind up the mag to the max for zeroing and then back to 6 or 8 for hunting. Guess you are happy with zeroing at 6 or 8! Just haven't tried it for a bit as all my scopes are at least x14 and that's what I have got into the habit of zeroing with.

mosa
german or hungarian?? whats the difference?
Mungler
Incidentally you wouldn't go wrong with that one Balders is flogging in the sales section - if he was to throw in some half tidy mounts (not mega expensive but not Hong Kong phooey rubbish either). Edit: The german vs hungarian thing has been done to death, I don't think there is f-all difference but I am sure that someone with Spiderman 20/20 vision x 1000 (who happens to own a german made one) will be along shortly to argue the difference Edited April 25, 2009 by Mungler

Mungler
It is a decent spec. Hang about here for a 8x56 between £300 and £350; one will be along soon.
Dunkield
Sell some body parts and buy the 3-12x50 Swaro in the sales section. It may not seem it, but that is a bargain.
