FAC Additional conditions question

Recommended Posts

I come under Kent police and have an open licence, been looking at the conditions on my licence, it says i can use my .223 rifle for shooting vermin and for zeroing, does anyone know if Kent class fox as vermin or do they require fox to be named. I have expanding ammunition listed.

EDIT - Forgot to say originally asked for .223 for target only but Kent police gave me vermin aswell as i had alot of land permission.

I will have a look in my ammo safe in the morning for the name as my daughter is in bed and opening the safe wakes her because it beeps when i press the buttons for the combination. All i know is it is a weird name and comes wrapped in brown paper with a staple at each end then put into a box, will try to post a pic too because it looks cheap and terrible but it is quality stuff.

it sounds like it might be 5.56mm mil spec for that price, i'd be amazed if it's not.

What bullets are they - fmj?

They are .223Rem FMJ, I get expanding for £26 and change per hundred, but not terribly good past 300yds.

On my cert it says "the .22rf rifle, the .22rf sound moderator, the .17hmr rifle, the .17hmr sound moderator, the .223 rifle and ammunition shall be used for shooting VERMIN and for zeroing blah blah blah.

My .44 rifle and .308 are target only.

Then with my expanding ammunition condition it says

The shooting of vermin or, in connection with the management of any estate, other wildlife. Not sure what that means.

EDIT- The .223 Rem ammunition is made by a russian company called Barnaul
