Thinking of trading in my Browning B525 and buying a secondhand B25 i know that these have excellent balance but does anybody else own one and can they recommend them as better than a B525

Was looking to buy a B2G sporter thats about 10 years old

i sold a 325 to get a new 525 the 525 needed 4oz of lead in the stock to balance it ,the 525 shoots lower than the 325, not a lot between them though my son has a 325 now and i can no longer shoot as well with it as i could when i sold mine about 2 1/2 years ago. 325 are getting on a bit now but are hard wearing but if its done a lot of clays it could be starting to wear, mine had very slight wear to the bottom barrel and had been tightened by a gunsmith.

I have a Browning A1 game, which i think is a B25. I love it and cant fire it enough, i havent fired a 525 so couldnt tell you! The A1 game is also beautiful to look at IMHO with dark walnut stock and handmade engineering. It was my first shotgun and was made about 25 years before i was born, and hopefully will still be around many years after i have gone!

You're comparing apples with pears. I have a weakness for B25s, with three in the cabinet at present. I used a B525 on regular occasion last year, so I am able to make a reasonable comparison. I also have a B325 which in terms of measurements and fit is identical to the B25s, but it feels very different. IMHO, the B25 is without a doubt a finer, more poised and elegant gun than any subsequent Browning. I just prefer the traditional look, balance and detailed refinement of the B25. And I like the 'ting' noise it makes when the action is closed on a B25.

Which model B25 are you considering, Jason?
