Pheasant eggs

Hi,just wondering how to tell if the pheasant eggs my bruv is trying to hatch out are any good? They have been in the tank,heated,turned,drissled with water now and again, talked too lol...They have been in for about 19 days so far,have tried to candle them,but cant see through as the shells seem to thick :rolleyes:

In the tank?:yes: Is it some kind of home made incubator or something :rolleyes: IE i take it you have temp control etc?

As for adding water for humidity maybe a little at the start but then leave it dry until you stop turning the eggs 3-4 days before they are due to hatch.

I have no problem candling eggs and can tell if they are fertile within 5 days of setting normally?Have you got a decent candler?

I just tried to candle them in my hands, How would i make a decent candler? And yes it is a DIY tank with a bulb for heat wich is a constant 37.5c.

The mother wont sit on the eggs,she is a bad momma lol....

i have a shop bought candeler just looked at it if i were to make one i would just use a rubber eye piece extension thingy off a rifle scope and fasten it to a torch as the meerkat says simples :rolleyes:
