Shooting wanted on the wirral

Recommended Posts

Hi Christy, I'm also new to this site, and not from your area, but you may get a better response to your query if you mention what kind of shooting you're looking for...

Shotgun - clays, pigeon, wildfowling, pheasant etc.?

Rifle - target, rabbit, fox, deer etc.?

Are you looking for occasional shooting, to join a syndicate or club, for permission to shoot on someone's land on a regular basis (proving a service managing vermin/game), to shoot with a buddy / mentor etc.?

Good luck - someone will pop up and reply at some point - especially if you give a bit more info about what you're looking for...

Thanks pipa, I am looking to do some pest control mainly wood pigeon over some farm land.I wouldn't mind trying some rough shooting. I have rang around a few farms in my area but they all seem to have people already doing it, as I am relitively new to the sport I am finding it extremely difficult to find some where to shoot other than at north Wales shooting school in sealand. I don't really want to pay out a lot of money to go but just somewhere where I can shoot by myself on a regular basis.

After looking on the dee wildfowlers website i think it might be on the tad expensive side for me to get into at first. I think it would be a definate possibility a few years down the line but thanks for the suggestion keep em rolling :good:

Not the most responsive of clubs.

I posted an email after being on their websit eabout 18 months ago - still waiting for a response.

I'm told you need a member to sponsor you aplication.

By the way I've seen lads of woodies at the bottom end of the M53 near chester loads of times.

Don't get round there enough to know who owns what land though, although a lot around Chester is owned by the Grosvenor Estate and therefore not accessible.

I think wildfowling is out the equation to be honest, I must have contacted every farmer on the wirral, their fields are full with woodies and I know it's not pheasant season until October but when I take the dog out the field are heavin with them. The other day I saw at least 5 and heard about 20. There is plenty of pigeon about aswell but no one seems interested.
