ironhorse
The forecast for Sunday 17 May was for our region rain in the morning clearing to then give showers some heavy, when I picked my mate up it was pouring, we drove the 20 miles to our shoot, drove around the estate found the field that had just been sown with maze and was being hit by corvids, we broke out the flasks and waited for the rain to stop, which it did in about an hour, we then spent half an hour or so setting up decoys and some deadys, put the flapper out and sat back waiting expectantly. We sat there for about 2 hours and came away flushed with our successful shooting of a massive total 4 corvids, another red letter day to add to my diary of successes

Out on Sunday afternoon as well, dry when we set up, trouble is we get chatting and miss the pigeons coming in,or pour the coffee, garuantees a fly-by!.got 5 pigeons on the decoys tho,and another one and two rabbits on walk-about as the rain settled in so not too bad, just good to be out! ratman
The joys of pigeon shooting, I watched hundreds of pigeons coming in on some new drill a while back. Things were looking good for a big bag and so armed with bootfuls of gear and cartridges we set up in a round all in the middle of a field that up until now had been blue with pigeons, yep you guessed it, 3 birds all day. That's pigeon shooting !!!!
