PAULT
it is unlikely you will get an fac on 9 acres of ground get permission on more land and get a coterminous license second handrifles all prices my first rifle was a voere semi auto i bought for 5 pounds in abergavenny hope this helps your first fac will be closed
RC45
I'd say get your shotgun cert first as this is easy. If you get refused an SGC you won't get an FAC. Easiest way to get FAC is get permission from a couple of farms or join a club that has a range, but the club option will take 12 months membership from date of joining. On 9 acres of land you might try for FAC air rifle, I'd say you'd be lucky to get 22lr and .17hmr near impossible. Hope this helps. njc110381
Ask for a HMR. You may get it if you have that much ground of your own. There's little point getting it on a larger permission though as you will only be allowed to shoot it on cleared ground at first normally. You will need a safe and scope. Bipods aren't essential. About £300 should get you a rifle and scope. A .22lr would be cheaper but on 9 acres the ricochet risk would put me off! EDIT...FAC air rifle could be an option, but they're not cheap! Lloyd90
Its alot of trouble getting a firearm at 16 as even if granted a ticket you yourself can not buy one from a shop. You can have one bought for you. Its rather tricky. Go for a shotgun cert first mate. If you like the 410 thn get one of them and use it for a bit. Just work your way up is my advice. bobbo
yeah im thinking a 410 is a cheaper/easier option i have another freind that has an u/o ejecting 410 he might want to part with so i will try sort out my certificate asap. im 17 this year i can apply an hold a certificate at 16 but obviously my dad would have to buy the gun. regards Rob
mollydog
there is no reason why 9 acres should not be cleared for firearms as long as its suitble why not apply for a shotgun cert and a .22lr and .17hmr and see what your firearms licensing say you might find they require a mentor but thats no big deal you can only ask
