Which Miroku?

Hi, this is my first post, hope you can help. I’ve been shooting clays for around six weeks using my brother’s spare gun, a lanber. I’ve also had the chance to shoot with a number of Barettas and Brownings. A couple of weeks ago I shot with a Miroku 6000. It instantly felt different it fit well and was very comfortable. During the last couple of weeks I’ve made an effort to shoulder and try as many Miroku’s as possible and I have to say most of them feel very good even taking into account I’m left handed. So the end result is, I’ve decided that it has to be a Miroku. The problem is which one. The Guys who own the guns I’ve tried can tell me about there guns but none of them seem to know much about any other models and indeed most could only name perhaps one more in the range.

So, I would like to know which model you would suggest I look at. I’ve tried a 3800, 6000 and 7000 all fit me very well and feel good. I would like your advice on these guns and perhaps let me know if there are other models I should take a look at.

I want the gun purely for clays, I’m left handed and have a budget of around £700 and would prefer the slightly older Miroku’s

Thank you!

Ray

I don't blame you... Mirook's are fantastic guns for the money...

You'll have to provide a little more info. What will you be shooting... DTL, skeet, sporting or all of them?

If you're aiming to shoot all sorts of different targets with the one gun I would suggest you get yourself either an MK70 30in multichoke, or an MK60 (depending on your fit) ... you'll find one for £700, and it will do for all sorts of clays, definitely

:good:

What Gordon said. The MK38 (normally) has back-bored barrels, and uses the Invector+ chokes, though there are a few fixed choke sporter 38's out there, usually choked 1/4 and 3/4.

The four digit Mirokus were replaced by the two digit models in 1994-95, when Miroku changed from demi-bloc to monobloc barrels. I don't think there is a real advantage to either system, but monobloc barrels are cheaper to make, and the saving has been passed on to consumers.

Try Guntrader for more guns and prices, and bear in mind that you can have a gun sent to your RFD (for a nominal fee) if you can't find what you want locally.

The MK70 makes a fine game/clays gun, but if you'll be shooting mainly clays I'd go for the MK38.

Good luck, and let us know how you get on.
