logun 16s jammed up with pellets

Just acquired a logun Mk2 16s. However, I seem to have missed all the advice about these ******* tendency to jam up with pellets, due to being a halfwit. Also the mag would not come out.

Anyway I naively went to my local dealer for some advice thinking they would sell me a handy 'rodding' tool to remove the pellets, after lots of well meaning albeit patronising advice of course.

Nope, their advice was to leave it with them and they would strip it down, put the barrel in a kiln(?), melt the pellets out and charge me by the hour for the priviledge. "probably ruin yer bluin' tho mate". Yeah right, duck fat!

So, with a length of copper welding rod, hammer, an allen key, hand drill and 1mm bit ready, I dismantled the beast to expose the barrel.

Supporting the barrel breech uppermost, I gently drilled a tiny hole into the pellet and after a few turns the bit got a grip of the pellet and I could pull it out exposing the next offender. Same process on no.2 pellet which then exposed no.3 ( the mag only had 3 missing) which a few taps with rod and hammer pushed out the end of the barrel.

There are probably a few obvious morals to this story.

This was the case with my s16s after my dad borrowed it for the day. He wasnt pushing the bolt far enough foward so the pellet wasnt being fired ended up doing the same thing with the remaing seven pellets. He now uses one of my single shot rifles.

i used to use a rod to get the pellet back out and it that did not work , take of the top rail on the gun underneath that you have like a bar shapred like |________| but the other way round what goes it two holes this is what cocks the gun , lift that out and u will be able to get access to the mechanism and with a bit of fiddleing u will be able to remove the mag but a rod nearly always worked , most jams are caused cos you dont pull the bolt right back make sure u hear the click and dont do it too fast worse thing i ever bought was a s16 damn heavy pain in the *** to carry all day and the jamming that was it for me !

strip it dwn ur self i had the same problem if u get it with 1 or 2 in were u can get the mag out just slide arod dwn the barrel and push they just fall out but if the mag is jammed have to srip it dwn shudnt take u more than 45 to strip dwn and rebuild and saves u £50 wot my local dealer was going to charge :P

hi

i did the same (not pushing the bolt forwards with enough gusto :good: )

i ended up gettin a long brazing rod, tapering the end then cutting a screw thread with diamond needle files and fitting the other end into a pin chuck.

i screwed it in by hand until it stopped turning and then pulled (i got six pellets out  )

after that i gave the bolt a bit extra grunt when pushing it for'ards

bloody thing's started leaking again so it doesn't get used now, hopefully i'll get over to swinton sometime soon and ask jim hogan to work his magic on it :good:

hope you get yours sorted mate as they're great guns when working properly :D

john :)
