Recommended Posts

I need a little bit of help please.

Went out shooting last night. How bloody hard is it :D. Saw quite a few of them but couldn't hit 1. Im using a 6v mounted light plus a head lamp. Do i need anything else, what do you lot use and could you give me any tips or tricks.

Cheers :D

I would lose the head light, it is probably spooking them, and get within 25 yards of them, and when there eye is lit up by the light aim for that area, but make sure it is your chosen vermin...Also try to get a red filter on your light :D

I'd be willing to bet it is range estimation. Air rifles are sensitive to range estimation, especially once you start talking 40 yards and a 12 ft-lb gun. At night, it is much harder to judge distance because you don't have the same reference points to judge from.

Set up some A4 targets in the daylight and come through at night and shoot them from unknown ranges (make a shooting point in the daylight so you know you're safe). Lamp them like rabbits and see how far off you are in your estimations.

Thanks

Rick
