Road Kill

Recommended Posts

Normally around here, you'd find maybe one or two road kills a month, along a 3 mile country road that I walk my dog. But today, along the last mile or so that is along a main(ish) road, I found a female blackbird, a big grey squirrel, a rook, and a sparrow. The sparrow wasn't dead, and had to be dispatched (I don't know how to ring its neck, so I stood on its head  )

Anyway, my point is, how come there are so many more animals getting hit by cars than normal? could it be due to the warm spell we've been having?

;)

I think this is the right section, but if not, go ahead and change it.

that will do it mate ;)

it was on a tarmac'ed road, I was wearing boots, and like I say, I don't know how to ring the neck of a bird that small.

I know it's not a dignified way to go, but I'd rather do that than leave it lying there
