webber
McFs car has developed a fault. I think that I'm making this post because he cant spell transmission, or it may just be that he will drive it until it either stops moving or he cant stand the noise any longer. The engine runs fine, as you would expect from one of our most excellent LPG conversions. However, when the vehicle starts to move off there is a juddering sensation. I have observed the vehicle and I get the impression that the rear wheels are slightly out of syncronisation with the front, once speed is attained, the problem subsides. we are suspecting the fluid coupling, but wondered if any PW members had any experience of this problem on this make of vehicle? webber
beretta
had a similar problem years ago. turned out i had bigger tyres on the back than the front. in 4x drive they were trying to go at different speeds and made a racket till it got going then went ok. not at slow speed though. al4x
Is it full time 4x4 or part time? sounds a bit like part time 4x4 with auto hubs that aren't unlocking
miniwizard
IF ITS AN AUTO TRANSMISSION THEN IT SOUNDS LIKE ITS LOW ON FLUID, YOU MUST CHECK THE FLUID WHEN THE ENGINE IS IDLEING OR TICKING OVER,THE JUDDER IS THE CLUTCHES GRABBING AND LETTING GO AS THE FLUID IS SPITTING TO THE CLUTCH PISTON,DO NOT DRIVE IT UNTIL YOUVE CHECKED IT,FLUID SHOULD BE RED IN COLOUR,IF IT BROWN IT MEANS THERE'S SOME CLUTCH MATERIAL IN THE OIL,THIS IS NOT THAT BAD,BUT CAN GET ALOT WORSE IF YOU KEEP RUNNING WITH LOW FLUID,IF IT HAS PLENTY OF FLUID IN IT,CHANGE THE FILTER..SORRY ABOUT CAPS LOCK
