Baldrick
Have a quick look on Guntrader.co.uk, Mick. The rifle that drew my eye in particular is the heavy-barrelled Sako L461 Vixen, because all Sakos just ooze quality. I would also have a good look at the second-hand Tikka M595, the various CZ 527s and the couple of Anschutz rifles advertised. If you wanted something new, there are Howa, CZ, Browning and other makes available. Whilst I am a real fan of the Tikka T3, you'd be carrying a lot of surplus metal around for such a tiny cartridge (the T3 is only available in long-action format). It's a cracking calibre. Stick an ASE CQB mod on it when funds allow, to really do it justice.

Baldrick
I am very surprised to hear that someone shot out two .222s. It's one of the most barrel-friendly calibres ever made. Stick with the .222 if you have the time and inclination to reload.

barrelsniffer
Hi Mick As i just said in another post ref 222 or 223, my 1st rifle was the heavy varmint barrel tikka T3 very nice rifle mate, and with homeloads, could group amazingly size of your little finger nail at 100 yds. i then swapped for 223 but still miss my 222 which i found more accurate with my HLs dont get me wrong my 223 shoots sweet also with HLs,but for some reason, still miss the 222.
