daz2202
Was out last Saturday with me mate round the fields and in the river just generally having a bit of fun. He had a wonderfull time as it was a long walk with no stress and waiting for me to miss the next pigeon, it was just run run run. that evening he started scatching his right eye, I had a good look but found nothing. Sunday morning his eye was swollen and dripping so the missus to him to vet as I had to be elsewhere. They gave us eye drops and painkillers. Yesterday (wednesday) it didnt seem to be getting any better so i called into the vets on my way home, they booked him in for a proper examination and I returned with him this morning. He ended up having a general anisthetic and they have found an ulser like scar on his cornia proberly caused by banging it on something blunt, like a plank of wood or something. they did the op and say he should be ok. He now has the obligotory bucket on his head, and has had his eye stitched shut for the next fortnight. He looks so sorry for himself and being the soppy ****** that i am all i want to do is sit on the floor and cuddle him. Wouldn't it be so much easier if dogs could talk, I am sure my boy would say 'Dad get this f-in bucket off my head, I promise i wont scratch it' or he would say 'next time you take me to that place i AM gonna bite you' I'm not going to enjoy the next few weeks - no walks, no shooting companion and I hate the thought of Dali boy in pain

smokingdragon
Sometimes it seems more stressful than with kids; with kids you can talk to them, dogs just panic.
