roadkill
How hard is it to shoot and lamp on your own ? I have only ever been out lamping with another body . I have the attachment for my scope to attach the lamp on but just wondered how hard it is to do and does the lamp work well when attached to the gun

Jim Sarakun
I leave my lamp on the gun whilst stalking or waiting, using the switch attatched to the forend to switch it on or off. This way I can keep my eye on the target once spotted, as I raise the gun to take the shot. Fumbling to attatch a lamp in the dark is no easy task often resulting in losing sight of the quarry. humperdingle
Only problem is that when the lamp is attached to the gun, you're effectively pointing your rifle at whatever you're shining light on. Apart from taking sensible precautions i.e. not chambering a round until ready to shoot, it's Fine lamping solo. If your rifle uses a moderator, you might get a touch of light "Feedback", blurring the image through the scope. This can be easily remedied, though. CZ550Kevlar
I have a lightforce with IR filter fitted on my scope then have a tactical light with red filter from china for general lighting, a powerful head torch is a must too just for lighting something up that i don`t want to point my rifle at, usually pesky dog walkers. rigwallet
Depends on what your using rimfire or air rifle looking at your armour its a air rifle so seeing as your shooting no more than about thirty yards than you dont need a big powerful lamp there is many made far air rifles that are small and light.
