lord_seagrave
make sure your dripping is smoking before adding your mixture and dont open the oven door till cooked Top tip - use plenty of dripping and get it smoking hot before pouring in the batter. On the subject of batter, make it an hour or two beforehand and leave it to rest. LS

Jamesshot
My tip for the best gravy - add some of the Yorkshire pudding batter to your gravy. It sounds awful but its a fabulous thickener and the gravy tastes AMAZING!
