Dodgemball
Can any of you recommend a particular none toxic cartridge for wildfowling purposes. Please include the shot size and grams. Many Thanks Dodgemball

M ROBSON
For large non-tox 'fowling loads you are best to reload, it opens up a lot of options and saves you a lot of money. I load a 1.75oz HeviShot load in 3.5" 12g Also a homeload of BBB steel doing 1550 fps does the trick. The Remington Sportman Steel and Winchester Drylok are both good factory loads. Mark. The Remington Steel is the best factory load available in my opinion
M ROBSON
I worked out the HS at £1.80 per shot, going by the prices at the time I bought the shot. Not cheap but if your only using a few on the foreshore they kill geese well. Not sure about the steel because I was given the shot. Try here for cheap loading gear, http://www.siarm.com/index.php?language=en Mark.
Dodgemball
I'm shooting mallard mostly and pinks on the foreshore and my chambers are 3" Edited July 22, 2009 by Dodgemball
mikee
depending on you budget its either steel #2 or hevi #4 for the duck and steel BB or BBB or hevi #2 for the geese, personally i use a 10b with steel #2 for duck and steel T for geese, dont see the point in hevi shot myself, with high speed steel i can kill fowl as far as i can shoot mikee
anser2
For what its worth I use = For duck Gamebore 3 inch 36 gr Mammoths in 3s Remington Sportsman 3inch 36 gr steel in 3s or 2s Hevi shot 31 gr load of 5s If I know the mallard are likely to be at extreme range. For Geese Hevi Shot 2 3\4 inch 31 gr 4s or 3 inch 34 gr 3s Kent Tungsten Matrix 3 inch 1s 3 inch steel has been a disappointment to say the least on geese , but the 3.5 inch stuff is ok as long as you shoot within 40 yards. jinxy72
I'm shooting mallard mostly and pinks on the foreshore and my chambers are 3" off the shelf go for remmington sportsman steel ... good proven steel wildfowl loads i use shot 5 for duck and 3 for goose .... dont attempt above 35 yrds and drop all dead above 35 yrds ur looking at either hevi shot ( available off the shelf ) or powershot ( homeloads ) and both expensive Edited July 25, 2009 by jinxy72
