pete evans
Do you flyfish? saltwater flyfishing in warm seas is top sport.
Cranfield
My advice would be not to take any tackle. Inshore and offshore Charters and Guides, provide the appropriate tackle and bait you will require. I have even seen shops with tackle for hire, very cheaply. In most areas casual beach fishing is either unproductive, or banned, due to coral protection, or other water activities (notably snorkeling). The inshore fishing, which includes wading lagoons and boat fishing backwater creeks, is mostly Guided and these need not be expensive trips, I have always negotiated a cash rate, one to one with the Guide. Offshore Charters are expensive and (unless you are a large group) you will be sharing with others, which keeps the cost down. If trolling, you take it in turns to take a rod when there is a "knockdown"/strike. The order is preagreed. If bottom fishing with bait, its much the same as a UK Charter boat. Don't forget the Mate (if there is one) expects a tip. Have a great trip, it will be interesting to hear how you get on.
