steve_b_wales
Hi mate. I've never used a Webley, but they are known to be of good make. Being a multi-choke/3" magnum, hsould be okay. The price sounds good as well. Another good make is the Lanber. I've had mine for over 10 years and it's never let me down.
evansaj23
Cheers for that Steve, that price is for a new one, sounds a bit cheep to me! have herd the Lanber deluxe is good for starting with and that most people keep hold of them, thinks thats why i can`t find many for sale. Just another quick one if you know, When i got my license the police said when i buy a gun the dealer will write the details on the license, if i was to buy a gun from one of the members on here will they do that or do i have to take license somewhere and pay someone to do it. Many thanks. Andy.
Cushat
If you buy a gun privately then the seller will enter his details on the cert but you both need to write to the police to inform them of the transfer.
evansaj23
Cheers cushat, being new to pigeon watch and shooting i am glad there are people like you that can advice us novices. Does anyone know how to date a lanber, thought i had read somewhere that there are two numbers in the serial number but unsure. Poss going to look at one later today. Lanber 2097 delux £450 ish what do you think.
Blunderbuss
Nice review of the Lanber 2097 here. No idea how to date it, but I think the 2097 is a fairly new model? £450 does sound a little steep fro a second hand Lanber.
evansaj23
Cheers Blunderbuss, have all ready looked at that, have had a look round web and new lanbers seem to be around £750+, so if it is a fairly new model then it doesn`t seem that bad of a price, seing as it is from a dealer and will be a warranty with it, also got pound note to wave at him so i will be haggling.
